A survivor-led movement

The Movement

G-IRL is a survivor-led movement bringing people together to change how we understand, talk about and respond to domestic abuse.

We connect lived experience, culture, education, advocacy and community to make domestic abuse harder to ignore and easier to act on.

Harder to
ignore.Easier to
act on.

THE REALITY

The impact of domestic abuse reaches children, families, friendships, workplaces, schools, healthcare, housing, justice systems, communities and economies. It affects the person experiencing abuse, but it can also shape the lives of the people around them for years. That makes domestic abuse a whole-society issue. Prevention isn't only about responding when someone reaches crisis point. It's about education, early recognition, safer systems, better support, accountability and gently changing the culture that allows abuse to stay hidden. The better we understand domestic abuse, the more able we are to notice it, respond with care and help prevent harm.
