LEAVING SHOULDN’T DEPEND ON WHAT YOU CAN CARRY.
People leaving abuse often go with almost nothing. A safe place to sleep. Clean bedding. A toothbrush. Transport. A phone that can’t be tracked.
These are basic needs that can make all the difference to a fresh start.
Make a donation
Give what you can.
Every gift, whatever the size, goes into the Survivor Essentials Fund. Thank you.
The Survivor Essentials Fund
THE BASICS, WHEN THEY’RE NEEDED.
Domestic abuse can take away safety, confidence, independence, financial security and connection.
G-IRL exists to challenge domestic abuse through awareness, education, campaigning and culture. Through S.A.D., the Survivors of Domestic Abuse network and digital community, we also work to connect survivors with practical resources, support and a community that understands.
Abuse often leaves people without money, belongings or a safe way to communicate. The fund covers those gaps.
Where your gift goes
WHERE THE MONEY GOES.
The fund covers:
A safe journey
Transport to accommodation, a support service or another appropriate destination.
Somewhere to sleep
Emergency accommodation when appropriate and available.
A fresh start
Bedding, towels, pyjamas, clothing and toiletries.
Safer communication
A phone and SIM card where appropriate, with consideration for individual digital safety needs.
Other essential support
Practical assistance based on a person's circumstances and available funds.

WHAT DONATIONS COVER.
Every gift goes into one shared fund. The amounts below are illustrations of what a contribution can go towards, not costs of specific items.

- €25TRANSPORT TO SAFETY.Contribute towards transport to somewhere safer, a support service or another important destination.
- €50A FRESH START.Contribute towards essential items such as bedding, towels, pyjamas and toiletries.
- €100A SAFE NIGHT.Contribute towards emergency accommodation or other urgent practical needs.

**These amounts are examples of what donations can contribute towards, not fixed prices or guarantees that a particular donation will fund an entire item or service. Contributions may be pooled to meet the most urgent needs.
The wider work
More than immediate support.
Practical assistance is one part of the work.
Your support can also help sustain the wider work of G-IRL:
The SAD Network
A survivor-led space for connection, peer support, learning and practical information.
About the SAD Network →Safety in Numbers

**Where a donation is made for a specific purpose, its use should reflect that purpose. Unrestricted contributions can help direct resources towards the work and needs that are most pressing.
Accountability, dignity and safety.
We take the responsibility of handling donations seriously.
We record and manage all spending, and allocate support according to need and available resources.
Survivor privacy comes first. We will not make someone's identity, image or personal story a condition of receiving assistance. Any reporting on support provided must respect confidentiality and safety.
LET US END ABUSE.
Abuse depends on isolation. Funding a way out, and the work that prevents abuse in the first place, is something all of us can share.
Not everyone can give money. Sharing this page or backing a campaign counts too.
GIVE WHAT YOU CAN.
Thank you for being part of this. Your support helps make the work possible.
